Study on EGS co-mining technology based on downhole decoder

EGS system is a single-layer heat exchanger system. Because of its output requirements, the temperature drop of the heat exchanger layer is very significant in the expected production stage. At the same time, due to the uncontrollable conditions of the storage tank, the generation of calorific value can not be accurately controlled, so the optimization of the existing EGS heat transfer research is not comprehensive. The solution to this problem is to design a three-tube and six-control EGS technology, which is based on the structure of multi-layer heat exchangers. This technology can contro

Migration and plugging mechanisms of polymer gel in 3D fractured media

The performance of polymer gel to plug a hydraulic fracture is greatly affected by its distribution patterns and gelling effect. In this study, the migration of a gel plugging agent in a fracture and its plugging after gelling were investigated by physical simulation experiments. In addition, the distribution patterns of the gel plugging agent and its plugging mechanism after gelling were investigated in detail. The results of this study revealed that the migration flowing behavior of the gel solution in a fracture can be divided into three streams: fracture flow, leak off flow, and matrix

Effect of temperature on measurement of stress by ultrasonic critical refractive longitudinal wave

The article deals with the state-of-the-art in the field of Longitudinal critically refracted (LCR) ultrasonic wave, for non-destructive material evaluation. It checks its capability for residual stress identification, and reviews positives and negatives related to its use. Obtained information within the article, are used for the understanding of essence of method and for the evaluation of its use in the engineering practice. The article can be the source of information about the LCR wave measurement technology, which is the part of the complex ultrasonic testing method. For the frequency

Interference calculation of foam pigging and its effect on pigging effect

To provide an efficient tool to assist in the control and design of pig operations through pipelines, a numerical code has been developed, based on a finite difference scheme. It allows the simulation of two-fluid transient flow, i.e. liquid–liquid, gas–gas or liquid–gas products in the pipeline. Modules to automatically control process variables were included to employ different strategies to reach an efficient operation. Different test cases were investigated to confirm the robustness of the method. The results obtained with the code were compared with a real oil displac

CO2 solubility test in formation water and prediction model

An experimental apparatus has been developed to measure the CO2 solubility in water, brines, polymer solutions, white oil and drilling fluids using the sample analysis method. The experimental results show that the electrolytes can significantly reduce the solubility of CO2 in water and the salting-out effect can be enhanced by increasing the molar concentration of salt ions. The influences of different polymers are similar, which can reduce the gas solubility to a certain extent. Furthermore, CO2 solubility in the oil-based drilling fluid is significantly larger than that in the water-base
